Hi, I'm Dan Calacci.

I'm a graduate student and research assistant at the Human Dynamics group at the MIT Media Lab.

My current work focuses on designing tools for workers to help build power through data and information sharing. I'm particularly interested in building technologies for platform workers that help them pool data in privacy-preserving ways to build a greater capacity for worker self-inquiry. I hope that the tools I build can be used by workers and advocates to create a more just future of work.

In the past, I've worked on personalized deep learning models that predict your happiness from social interactions, measuring behavioral health using mobile phones, discovering political framing automatically using machine learning, and inferring the hidden networks that relate congresspeople.
